Names not only determine the core essence of a writing plot, they become the foundational element of a living being. Many a time their characters become the definition of the names, per se. Would you agree ? We get to be known by our names, however, our “character” rules the name’s taxonomy as we grow and mature. Shouldn’t it be the other way around for character to smell the name’s way ? I have been in constant contemplation to understand the morale of “names” versus “characters”. The true characters and not what the name actually means. I understand there is a fundamental difference. Do you ?
Talk to yourself at least once a day, otherwise you might miss an excellent meeting! Influencing oneself is the very first step one can take, before the wings of influence get to taste the air around! In an attempt to reverberate with the learnings from my contemplation, here is a short info-cast for you to listen, reflect and hopefully resonate!
As I shared that exercise, I attempted at going deeper into the woods of my own “onomatology“. For those that’s hearing the word for the 1st time, it is the study of names – well, by definition it does not stop just there quite yet, it is the study of etymology (study of origin of words and the way in which their meanings have changed throughout history), history and use of proper names! “Ramya” means beautiful and/or delightful! Whether or not there is charm in me was the first question that I dealt with when I held onto my guts to initiate a reflection series in You Tube. The answer was (and is) an explicit and concretely expressed ‘YES’! The charm in me drives the charisma or my soul. It did not glow within a minute, however the journey undertaken is worthwhile to understand the true meaning!
Have you ever made an attempt to build in those characteristics that your name carries along? Are we realizing that through our names is what we are made unique? And what we are beginning to become through this process of knowing is what we are actually called out for ?
To top it all with an interesting read, try your hands (and brains) at Lloyd Bockstruck’s “The NAME is the GAME”. It is beautifully woven around the serendipity and life’s choices that can alter our family names. I wouldn’t recommend it for only the researcher’s category, however, it is a must for all of us to flip through a few leaves to gain that wisdom of a lifetime. The work atrracts and engages the readers at the get-go.The chapters are very well organized and discusses the depths of ancestral clues that are inherent in names.

Why don’t you get to “know” the meaning that you are carrying all through your life and share it with me in the comments below ? Is it the meaning of your name that makes you up, or it is you that’s making the true meaning of your names ? Magic happens not when we look outside, but when we delve it on the inside. Where did your magic happen ?

Rose would smell as sweet even if called by some other name Shakespeare said I agree with your travelling inside from within
