Dhanur Asana, the Bow Pose, indeed is an exquisite utility provider. “Dhanus” reflects “bow”. Like a bow ready for action via the aim, the body flexibility with the hands acting as the string of the bow of torso, and ankles clamped when a person lying on the abdomen lifts the frontal body up with proper exhalations at the start and inspiration then as the vinyasa flow, the pancreas are activated.

Step-1 after prelims (either from Surya Namaskar / from MatsyAsana – can be found here Yoga’s Way with my Dad)
Step-2 On your knees and hands
Step-3 Take your legs back one after the other (and slowly, yet steadily)
Step-4 On your abdomen. Hands on the mark and ready to balance.

Step-5 Lift the frontal body up with appropriate exhalations
Step-6 DhanurAsana (preliminary posture without hands holding the legs) stretches Thorax, Abdomen, Thigh, Inguinal region, Ankle, Throat, Psosas major muscle, and front of the body.
