Bodhi & Maya Series – Kid’s Reflection #1

Explore your interests – Remember this is the age!!

Bodhi & Maya: Hello friends! We are one of the thoughtful and mystical cousin pairs! We want to share our thought provoking positive ideas with our friends out there either as dialogues or in a story format. We will attempt to achieve that across all our “reflections”!

Nature’s reflection..! A true synergy!

Maya: I am Maya and am 9 years old.

Bodhi: I am Bodhi and am 8 years old, well young (giggle)!

Maya: We are always told by our parents “remember this is the age”….. sooooo “explore your interests”!!

Bodhi: oh, that’s soo true! I keep hearing that from my parents too, Maya. What’s that all about? Shall we discuss?

Maya: Of course Bodhi, I wanted to discuss and understand the topic with you!

Bodhi: Ok good, let’s understand the meaning first. Explore means “carefully studying something”. How would you define “interest”?

Maya: Aahh! True. And, interest is something that a person enjoys doing! Like sports or music or art!

Bodhi: oh yes, so that’s what it means – to carefully study what we are interested in, and to take it forward.

The personification of Brain Power

Maya: That’s so true. You know Bodhi, I did not like music (traditional Carnatic music) when I started to learn it 4 years ago. My mom pushed me every single day to practice. I just realized now how musical I am as I am able to listen and appreciate a variety of songs!

Bodhi: Really? But I get where you are going with this! My mom did the exact same procedure with me and my art classes! And now you what happened? Maagiccccc happened! Yes, look at these sun catchers – I painted them, in fact Maya, I painted a few with you!

Magic truly happens with (/for) those that pursues with “interest”..!

Maya: Oh my goodness, you are soo artistic!  Now I guess we both understand where our parents took us with their thoughts!

Bodhi: That’s true my cousin! They are the best!

Maya: So, Bodhi, what are the other areas that you think your parents are trying for you to gain some interest, and you are against them ? I mean at least to start with, we resist too many things, honestly! Right…. (giggles)

Bodhi: Man, now I know where you are going with this! Maya, you always have a way to influence and create interest in others! Hmmm… let me think… I believe it is with my Math and Learning classes now!

Influencing one’self is the first step to influencing others. It need not be a deliberate act. It happens naturally when we pursue with interest!

Maya: Oh yeah! I have learned that from my mom (I guess!). She has a way always with me and everyone! Right now, it’s with a sport for me! Hey, believe me I used to hate my extra math lessons initially, but now I just love them and my classes. I have developed an interest in math that I see everything mathematically these days… like, you know! My water bottle base is a circle! A heart shape that I love, is symmetrical!

Bodhi: Wow, Maya. You are the best! I look at things mathematically too. My soccer practice is all about math in fact! Wow! I guess I understand my mom now! She is indeed the best mother that a 2nd grader can be gifted with! And you said you are trying sports ? You should really try your hands, well legs (giggle), with soccer. It’s the best game ever!

Maya: There you go! I will certainly join my soccer classes soon enough, or I might try basket ball too, let’s wait and watch! Am excited that I get to be more active in the year to come! And am excited that we both have common interests!

Bodhi & Maya Together: Thank you friends for listening to us! We will come back with an episode to clarify what our names mean and who we truly are.

Today, we have understood what “exploring interest level” means.

What are your interests and how are you going to start off learning what they are and how you can pursue them ?

Share your thoughts and likes with us in the comments below while we treasure some of our unique conversations and memories!!

Creating memories are important for kids to “visualize” their interests and pursue their passion! Be that source!

A passionate young woman who has just realized her Iconic Independence, truly by leading a life, on her own – which she has only fantasized in her dreams all through these years, before stepping into a challenging role of this kind (you will get to know what this journey has been!). I have wanted to prove myself, not just in the cyber space, but the treasure-filled stage of life as well. Ask me to whom I wanted to prove? It was just to myself and not to anyone else. I for one slide into the shoes offered to me on a daily basis by the All-Pervasive! Whatever that might be! I also want to be an active player all through the blissful years that is showered and the ones that I am yet to be presented with! I am full of life and values and wish to re-create the meaning of this ‘journey undertaken’ – not just through the mere survival and existence, but by the richness of resilient thoughts to LIVE and THRIVE every moment that flashes by!
